Jet Blue offers affordable a la carte fares. While some airlines allow free carry-on or checked luggage, Jet Blue's basic fares give you the option to add these benefits for an additional fee.

Each passenger can bring one personal item on board free of charge; These are small bags or backpacks that easily fit under the seat in front of you. If you are not a Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra or Mosaic member, you will be charged for any other baggage.

Jet Blue differs from other airlines in that Blue Basic passengers bringing carry-on luggage to the gate will be required to check the baggage and pay a checked baggage fee. These rates are $65 for the first bag and $180 for the third if you haven't booked in advance.

On domestic flights, Jet Blue checked bags that meet the size and weight requirements below are only $35. A second suitcase costs an additional $45; the third bag will cost you $150. You can get a discount on your first two pieces of luggage by paying the baggage fee in advance.

Checking a bag on an international flight that meets the same requirements as domestic baggage costs $65 for the first bag, $105 for the second and $200 for the third.
