The Accountant provides for and oversees the acquisition, expenditure, and management of the Library\'s finances; and oversees the integration of Library financial operations with the City\'s automated accounting systems and will play a key role in the City\'s financial system re-implementation currently scheduled to go live at the beginning of 2018. Additionally the Accountant will provide support to Library staff as part of this conversion process, which will include learning about People Soft and the project, developing staff presentations and training related to the new system and helping to document, develop and update procedures for system usage. The Accountant will also assist with accounting and analysis associated with implementation of the Library Levy.
-Analyze and prepare cash flow forecasts and provide real-time updates to forecasts based on actual revenues and expenditures.
-Audit and reconcile assigned accounts in the general ledger.
-Research, analyze and prepare journals for financial transactions.
-Must be flexible and able to quickly adjust to changing assignments and priorities.
-Consistency and an ability to recall complex procedures and details is required.
